It is our belief that a person's life controlling issue affects the whole family unit. This is why TLC has developed a Family Ministry. It is our desire that while a man is here at TLC building his relationship with the Lord and working on internal issues, his family be coached in doing the same. Below are the ways in which our Family Ministry can help you get a start in becoming all the Lord wants you to be.
Phone Ministry
Within the first two weeks of a mans arrival in the program he will meet with the Family Ministry Coordinator . The Family Ministry Coordinator will ask the man for family members that he wishes her to stay in contact with. She will also ask the new resident for his impression on how things were left with the family members. Then the Family Ministry Coordinator will contact each of the family members and offer her support. Support will range in the form of prayer, an ear to listen, suggested books to read, information about TLC, tools to help start healthy communication between spouses, invitations to Families of Faith weekend retreats. This support will continue throughout the residents stay.
Families of Faith Retreats
Every January, March, May & September the Family Ministry Coordinator will put together a family weekend retreat. These retreats are designed to help start the restoration process amongst the family members. The speakers and topics vary and childcare is provided.
